diverse routes

Diverse Routes Booklet CoverDiverse Routes into Higher Education - www.diverseroutes.co.uk, produced by The Open University in Scotland, is designed to provide a coherent source of information and support to encourage new and settled migrants, and black and minority ethnic groups including refugees and asylum seekers, to explore the benefits of higher education.

Diverse Routes complements the work of the Scottish Refugee Council and initiatives such as New Roots Scotland to encourage the integration of new migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in Scotland through education, employment, enterprise and training.

The website contains general information about accessing higher education, including financial support, credit transfer and recognition of prior learning, professional development and English language courses. There is also local information about access and English language courses, as well as local contacts for further advice and support.

www.diverseroutes.co.uk includes hotlinks to other useful websites, together with a general introduction translated into 14 key community languages. Throughout the website there are case studies of individual learning journeys which illustrate the choices that can be made and the range of support available.
